October 18, 2012 - October 21, 2012
Mark your calendar now for October 18-21, 2012 for the 20th anniversary of Biketoberfest® in Daytona Beach, FL, an international award-winning motorcycle festival that offers participants an extended weekend get-away brimming with plenty of sun, beaches, bikes and fun! Thousands of bikes will roar into and all around town - no two alike! Popular annual activities include motorcycle shows and rallies that showcase new, vintage and custom bikes; demonstration rides on the newest machines from top manufacturers; and on-track motorcycle action at the world-famous Daytona International Speedway. You'll also enjoy endless-delicious food choices, live music and plenty of people-watching. With a variety of events and activities planned at venues all across the county, you're sure to find the best places to play and stay during your visit.
Here are some "Must Sees" of Biketoberfest:
Main Street: If you love bike events then this is a "must see" place to experience. You'll find all kinds of year-round favorite and down-right famous bars like Froggy's, Dirty Harry's, Main Street Station and the Boot Hill Saloon, as well as vendors, live entertainment, food, free give-aways and more.
Beachside: Believe it or not, we've been driving on the beach since 1903 and the first motorcycle races were held on our hard-packed sands. Known locally as the "Beachside," businesses along A1A roll out the red carpet for bikers. Sample fresh seafood at restaurants right on the ocean shore and Intracoastal Waterway. Also make plans for a stop at the Boardwalk Classic Bike Show or cruise down to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse to get a "view from the top."
Beach Street: Just over the Main Street bridge on the "Mainland," Biketoberfest® at Riverfront Park continues to grow and grow every year. Look for the Harley Motor Company pin stop, food, vendors, live entertainment, displays, bike builders and much more. Carl's Speed Shop welcomes bikers with lots to see and do over the weekend, including computerized dyno installations. Don't forget a stop by the Original Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Harley-Davidson, soon to be a museum in the late motorcycle mogul's honor.
Midtown: The Second Avenue Merchants Association's Bikefest has been welcoming bikers to this historic location for decades. DJs, vendors, unique food choices and lots of fun await you. On Saturday afternoon, the Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Church holds its annual Bike Blessing.
International Speedway Blvd.: Motorcycle racing is back this year on the high banks of the newly-repaved Daytona International Speedway! But there's a lot of action OFF the track during Fall Cycle Scene. From FREE demo rides on the latest and greatest motorcycles to a bikini contest, there's plenty to do and see in and around the track. Just to the west of the Speedway, look for bargains and special motorcycle displays at the Daytona Flea and Farmer's Market.
South Daytona: South Daytona: Ride south on U.S. Highway 1 to Miller's Customs Parts and Jim Walkers Motorcycles. Both offer Biketoberfest® specials, vendors and fun. For the ladies, ROAR offers motorcycles custom-designed for women. Special events and activities are planned (for guys too), including designer bikes, accessories, apparel, jewelry, cosmetics and live entertainment. Located on nearby Bellevue Ave.
